Four Tenors Coming to Walla Walla!

We are so excited about the upcoming performances of the Four Tenors at our very own Power House Theater in Walla Walla. On Saturday, Feb. 18th, we will provide transportation for those of you in the Tri-cities area from the Pasco, Red Lion departing at 4:00pm. We will stop at Three Rivers Winery for a buffet style dinner catered by Andre’s Kitchen which includes: Caesar Salad, Steamed Rice, Roast Chicken Provencal,and Cumin Spiced Roast Pork Loin with vegetables. One bottle of wine per table is included as well. Then we will proceed to the theater where we will enjoy the best of Pop, Country, Broadway, Rock, and Classical music from premium main floor seats! We will return back to Pasco by around 10:30pm. You can experience this wonderful event for just $110/person. All seats must be reserved no later than February 4th! Call 509-337-0100.

Whitman College Men’s Basketball

Our Whitman College Men’s Basketball team is hoping to continue their winning streak as they take on the Whitworth University Pirates in Spokane tonight. After three wins in a row against Pacific Lutheran University, Linfield, and Pacific, they are currently tied for second place in the NWC. We are confident that tese talented young men will give their opponents a run for their money! We love watching how well they work together as a team and know they’ll go far. We’ll be on the road with them for the next two weekends for their games with Willamette University, Lewis & Clark College, and George Fox University. We’re looking forward to some very exciting basketball matches!

Whitman Women’s Basketball

Whitman women’s basketball knocked out two huge wins this weekend against University of Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran University to put us at 2-2 in Conference play. These were two great team wins for us-everyone contributed! Very exciting! It felt great to play a weekend of great Whitman Basketball. We hope to take this momentum into next weekend as we take on Linfield and Pacific at home. Big thanks to Joe and Dream Ride for getting us to and from safe and sound! Whitman Swimmers

December 2nd through 4th was an exciting weekend for fifteen Whitman College swimmers. They were participants in the 63rd Annual Husky Invitational Swim meet in Federal Way, Washington. There were more than two dozen universities, colleges, and club teams represented at the King Co. Aquatic Center. We want to congratulate Helen Jenne who broke a school record in the 100 yd freestyle and Karl Mering who broke school records in both the 50 yd freestyle and the 100 yd butterfly! Here We Come A Caroling!

Take a cold, crisp, December afternoon and add a group of talented brass and woodwind players playing Christmas Carols, and it is officially the Holiday Season. We had such fun taking Ron McHenry and his Walla Walla Valley Band to three venues around Walla Walla where they brought Christmas cheer to our community. They even braved the cold temperatures to play at the Plaza on Main St. for those who were waiting for the Annual Light Parade to begin! It was a great way to kick off the Christmas Season.

A Fun Night Out!

Last Saturday night we had the privilege to provide a night out for some of Walla Walla’s police officers and their families. We loaded up about 40 passengers and headed to Kennewick to watch the Tri-cities Americans hockey game. It was a great time to kick back, relax, eat some junk food and watch their favorite team win! Thank you to all of our law enforcement officers for all that you do for our community!

Making Beautiful Music

We love young people and we love great music which is why we love providing transportation for the Walla Walla Valley Academy Orchestra. As you can imagine, it can be difficult to get a group of over 30 musicians and their instruments from point A to point B for their concerts. We have adequate storage for the larger instruments and plenty of seats so the whole group can travel together.
Under the direction of Benjamin Gish, these talented young people share their musical gifts with not only our local community, but with communities across the state, and even in foreign countries. (Last summer they spent 10 days performing in Vienna, Salzburg, and Prague.)
Recently, we had the pleasure of taking them to the Seattle area where they performed for residents of a nursing home and two different churches.

However, this trip was not all work and no play. They were given the wonderful opportunity to go to a performance of the Seattle Symphony while they were there. We look forward to going on more trips with them.

Whitman College Soccer Team!

After a long bus drive filled with movies, food, and general merriment, the Whitman women’s soccer team arrived at their hotel in Tigard with their sights set on a win for the next day. Their final game of the season against Willamette was on everyone’s mind. It was the team’s last chance to prove to the conference that despite a less-than-optimal record, the 2011 Whitman team was a force to be reckoned with.

The next morning dawned rainy and gray, and as the team’s trusty bus driver, Joe, drove them to Willamette, the girls prepared mentally. The first half was scoreless, with close opportunities for both teams but no goals. Whitman took the field for the second half very aware that they had a mere 45 minutes left to prove themselves. And they did. Whitman took the lead less than two minutes into the half and dominated the whole half, resulting in a final score of 4-1 in Whitman’s favor. Senior Captain Libby Watkins said, “This win was the perfect note to end our season on, and for the seven seniors, the perfect way to end our soccer careers.” On the bus ride home, the team couldn’t help but hold their heads high and feel proud of their accomplishments.

The Whitman women had an unforgettable weekend and thanks Dream Ride Charters (and Joe) for a great and safe season!

Whitman College Volleyball & the Annual Bridal Show!

It is excellent working with Whitman College again this year! The women’s Volleyball team are a talented, determined group of athletes who are fun to watch. They just played their last game of the season and did an amazing job!

Also, we recently set up a booth at the Marcus Whitman Hotel for their annual Bridal Show. It was great fun meeting over 40 brides who may use our buses to transport their party to the rehearsal dinner, and their guests from the hotel to and from the wedding & reception. This way everyone arrives on time, and gets back to the hotel safely without any tickets. There was great interest in our New Vintage Limo (coming soon!) This car will hold 10 passengers and will be perfect for local weddings, wine tours, and for a fun night out on the town!

A New Season

The leaves are turning colors, the weather is cooling down, and all of the students are back to school again. This is a fun time for us because we have the priviledge of providing transportation for Whitman College’s Cross Country, Volleyball, and Soccer teams. (We’re looking forward to Basketball & Baseball season as well). We LOVE going to the games and cheering for “our college kids”. It makes us feel like we are in college again, too!
